Dear Friends of Liberty -
From mid-March until now the campaign has been focused on collecting the 3,629+ signatures necessary for ballot access, nearly 4X the amount needed by a Republocrat. This Sunday, April 18th, there will be a pizza/notary party for all petitioners and anyone else who would like to sign at Pies On in Catty (details here). At that time we will have an update on the number of signatures collected and hopefully some very good news!! While as an independent I have no primary, the goal is to be listed on the general election ballot before the May 18th primary arrives.
From January to March the campaign almost doubled fundraising totals from 2009, with 653 donors chipping in a total of $30,971!!! After removing the $3K+ I have put in and a handful of the top donors, the average donor gave about $35. While this amount may seem small, the campaign has a good chance of remaining the top independent fundraising campaign in the nation!
The campaign has a fun-filled summer planned, more news to follow but the main focus is still on collecting signatures.

“Everyone carries a part of society on his shoulders; no one is relieved of his share of responsibility by others. And no one can find a safe way out for himself if society is sweeping toward destruction. Therefore, everyone, in his own interests, must thrust himself vigorously into the intellectual battle. None can stand aside with unconcern; the interest of everyone hangs on the result. Whether he chooses or not, every man is drawn into the great historical struggle, the decisive battle into which our epoch has plunged us.” — Ludwig von Mises
