Jobs Also a Top Issue
In response to President Obama’s State of the Union address, I was quoted as stating military expenditures needed to be cut – for more details, please read my article “Guns or Health Care?“ My full remarks on the address can be read here. Original URL here.

Health Care Letters to the Editor
These are slightly different versions but the changes were made solely because of the different word count allowed by the newspapers. I find it difficult to get across a fully-fleshed out idea in 200 words or so, but so please read “Health Care is NOT a Right” to fully understand my perspective.
In particular, after additional thought and comments from readers, I made a couple phrasing changes for clarification but the point of the article certainly did not change and I view it as the simple truth that is harsh for some – you do not have a legal right to force someone else to serve you, even and especially if you use the government as an intermediary. However, I am not being inhumane – I’ve pledged to only accept the median household income and donate the remainder to local non-profit hospitals.
In this article, “Guns or Health Care?” I list the military spending we should cut in favor of domestically spending our wealth on ourselves, and list charities like the Red Cross/Red Crescent, Habitat for Humanity, Shriner’s Childrens’ Hospitals, etc. that exist despite government’s best attempts to become socialized charity for all – which just doesn’t work.
My health care plank can be read here, which describes the problem in detail and has a host of solutions in it.
