Nicely done Jake. Those in power will not want such a system competing against them. All the more reason it must be built. The best method to implement this is to have the citizens themselves volunteer to build it with gentleman like you coaching.

Jake -

There is one question I have with this concept. You are aware of the recent debacle of this inept white house with "Facts are Subborn Things", where people were encouraged to turn in websites, friends emails, or other information so the 'whitehouse could properly respond to them". Inso doing, the white house put themselves in a quandry where they were violating law by collecting the information in the first place, but then because it was going to the white house the info became illegal to purge once they had it. Once the idiots who set up this totalitarian type tactic realized that they were opening BHO up to actionable litigation they finally shut down the email account.

I think your concept has said that the open office would be open only to your constituency (which of course makes sense), but that they would have to register on your government website to prove they are indeed a constituent, and perhaps even registered to vote. How can we then trust that this information, which is necessary to collect for your idea to work, would then not be used in some malicious or retributive manner (even if not by you or your office). It is also possible that your constituent would want to approach you anonymously using the online office, how then could they prove they were a consituent?

While I know your intention is upright, you'll forgive me when I say I don't trust government at all with the information that could be gained with such tools.

Cheers,

Pete
