Thanksgiving, Towne Hall and the FDIC Officially Goes Bankrupt

This Thanksgiving I am very thankful to all the campaign volunteers, most especially Rebekah Forney, volunteer Web Leader, Jessica Roth, volunteer Campaign Manager, and Joseph Sneddon, volunteer.  Due to the efforts of Rebekah and Joseph in sparking conversations, we’ve had success in getting posted in the Morning Call for a nice article that even referred to the internet conversations they have been able to start.  I am also very, very thankful for the one priceless gift – more time in which to reach people with the message of liberty.  (And obviously, I am quite thankful for my family and friends as well.)

Thanksgiving is also a time for peace. While the United States did not have such an overall peaceful record with the Indians, there were exceptions like Thanksgiving, and the holiday we now have is due to their ability to live in peace with their fellow man, regardless of language and culture barriers.  It is a pretty crazy world we live in where our servicemen and women must fight wars funded by the excess money-printing of the Federal Reserve and the credit of countries like China while we can relax with our loved ones.  I hope with all my heart we are able to bring the troops home now, from both Iraq and from Afghanistan.

Last night on Thanksgiving Eve, the first-ever Towne Hall was held and it was a success!!  The room was filled up and all the citizens there had a chance to ask questions or make comments over 90 minutes on topics such as foreign policy and the Afghanistan War, the future of the dollar, lightly on health care, the new bailout bill and heavily on the economy.  There were a lot of new people, and I thank them all for taking the time from their personal lives before the holiday to stop by and shoot some questions at me!  Our next Towne Hall will be on Thursday, January 14, from 7-9 PM at the Lehigh County Senior Center, 1633 Elm Street, Allentown, 18102.

Although the article below isn’t exactly optimistic, it is the truth.  It was posted on Tuesday but due to excessive traffic on the Raging Debate server, the site was temporarily shutdown and has been moved to an upgraded server.  The written content of Towne for Congress is shared on the same Raging Debate server as The Burning Platform, where Dr. James Quinn wrote a provoking economics post, “ALL YOU ZOMBIES” that I encourage you to check out.

Likely due in large part to Raging Debate’s commenting and login technology, TFC is already one of the largest congressional candidate websites in terms of traffic, certainly the #1 site of an independent private citizen candidate, and is close to becoming one of the top 100,000 websites of any kind in the US.  That said, obviously internet dominance over competitors is nice but only goes so far, the campaign will be won or lost by the efforts of volunteers on the streets, in their homes, and with their friends and neighbors to win votes.  On the weekend of December 12-13, there will be a flyer blitz, read more here for details and please RSVP to TowneForCongress@gmail.com so we know how many people to plan for.

The campaign staff and I wish everyone a pleasant holiday!!

From today’s FDIC quarterly, there is final confirmation that the Deposit Insurance Fund is negative $8 billion.

 Tuesday, November 24, 2009

WASHINGTON, DC – Today the FDIC released itsquarterly report, revealing that the Deposit Insurance Fund is bankrupt and now stands at negative $8.2 billion dollars. (page 13/26) Central planner and FDIC Chairwoman Sheila Bair has confirmed separately that future bank failures will be funded by the bailout fund allotted to the FDIC.

If you are new to the US banking scheme, you might question why banks and the FDIC are going bankrupt — don’t they HAVE all the money? The answer is they do not, banks in July 2008 had lent out about 99.4% of all the money they had on deposit. This is despite the rather insane truth that the Federal Reserve can create more money whenever it desires.

The FDIC had predicted its bankruptcy in a September letter. I had been following the FDIC closely for the past 18 months, but I finally threw my hands in the air after seeing how the report was rigged to keep the DIF fund positive in the Q2 2009 report, as I reported in “FDIC: ‘We Aren’t Bankrupt and Everything is A-OK.’”

However, the best friends of the FED banking cartel, the United States Congress, has a lot more nice surprises in store for America’s working class. Politicians like to wave around one hand as they mess around with the other hand behind their backs, out of sight. While all the fury of the concerned is focused on the health care spend-and-tax bill, HR 3996, dubbed by yours truly as the “Automatic Bailout Bill” will grant the FED the ability to bailout any “individual, trust, or corporation” (section 1701) as well as impose a bureaucratic system of unneeded regulations.
