Weekend Flyer Blitz Report

Jessica Roth, Campaign Manager, and I would like to extend a VERY warm thank-you to all the volunteers who assisted in the "Who Is Jake Towne?" flyer blitz this weekend, especially the Student Liberty Front who helped on both days.  THEY ARE MY HEROES.  The flyer can be downloaded from here and included the campaign themes, mission and principles, the Our Open Office concept, and more.  On Saturday, 15 volunteers covered a large tract of Bethlehem, and on Sunday 7 volunteers blitzed center-city Easton.   Over 80 man-hours saw 7,000+ flyers distributed, bringing the December total to >9,000.  As most residences have 2+ voters in residence, roughly 20,000 residents have been contacted during the blitz, plus well over 5,000+ from local parades and my personal door-to-door efforts.  For any in the area who wish to help, you have only to email TowneForCongress@gmail.com with your name, phone number and city and ask to volunteer. 

While Saturday's weather was cold, there were clear skies and it was pretty pleasant walking weather.  However, Sunday saw a sheen of ice form on the ground followed by freezing rain for the rest of the day and it was quite easy to take a spill.  I called those who RSVP'ed and convinced a couple men (who were over 60+ years as well) to not take the risk and to deliver flyers on another day.  Of course, while I was calling them I myself was slipping and sliding around with a pouch of flyers and pocket Constitutions.  However, a few spartans still charged out into the downpour and ice. Later I found myself reflecting on why these unpaid volunteers would still campaign in the ice and rain -- it certainly was not for me (I am quite a simple person - really.)  They certainly had other things to do - one volunteer had final exams and I am sure they would have all preferred to be some place a lot warmer.  Why on earth would they volunteer?

It is so that our country does NOT COLLAPSE without the efforts of the valiant few who realized that the only way to secure their own liberty is to fight for it. 

It is so that it will not be said that not everyone stood around and watched while their country's economy and moral society disintegrates under the furious assault of the oligarchs and lawless rogues who sit in Washington and pay no heed to the rule of law and the Constitution's limits on their power.

All this talk of Spartans brings to mind a scene from the start of the movie 300.

King of Sparta:  "You threaten my people with slavery and death."

Persian, aka the "Two-Party" System:  "This is blasphemy!  This is madness!"

King of Sparta:  "Madness?  THIS.... IS.... SPARTA!!"

My family and friends are not only threatened with slavery, they ARE enslaved.  One need look no farther than the onerous and unnecessary income tax, the hidden inflation tax of the FED, the bailouts and corporatism, and many other methods of theft from We the People.

One need look no further than the fraudulent monetary system which once was gold and silver and is now irredeemable I.O.U. scraps of linen and toxic inks.  As has been said throughout the ages, though forgotten in our own time - Gold is the Money of Kings.  Silver is the Money of Gentlemen.  Barter is the Money of Peasants.  Debt is the Money of Slaves.  See my speech at the FED below.  (full 300 scene here, a bit gory at the end though.  I obviously do not condone the use of force unless it is a defensive response to aggression against individual rights - life, liberty, and justly-acquired property.)

            

Threatened with death?  Ask the million+ civilians and 5,305 American servicemen and women who have died in unjust, illegal, preemptive wars like Iraq, which had nothing to do with 9/11.  Think Afghanistan is a "just" war just because Obama said it was during his acceptance of his $10 million SEK Nobel No-Peace Prize or the local Republican incumbent says it is?  Read about the formal definition of just war theory in my Afghanistan War plank here.

While I myself might have been content to continue working as well-paid engineer abroad, there is no way I could knowingly abandon my family and home to a harsh fate at the hands of the Republocrats.  I will never submit to the will of spineless career politicians who represent the two-headed, one-party system that have NO principles nor respect for the rule of law, that lie with their mouths and steal with clenched iron fists. 

Liberty is a rare exception to the blunt history lessons taught by authoritarian governments.  Liberty is the tree that, against all odds, has taken hold on the rocky face of a mountainous crag.  Have we forgotten which country was conceived in liberty?  Founded in truth?  Begun by the people FOR the people?

THIS IS AMERICA!  RESTORE THE REPUBLIC!
